Having been a care assistant, whilst studying in her early twenties, Sarah realised that she had a love for helping others to help themselves. Seeing those she cared for getting frustrated at what they now couldn’t do, gave her a determination to identify things that they could do and to give them the time to do them. Helping them to not just face their new reality, but begin to work positively with it, meant that Sarah began to see hope in the eyes of those who had felt there was no hope. Watching them choose empowerment again, made her hardwork so worthwhile.

The realisation that our natural instinct is to be independent, as soon as possible and for as long as possible, took Sarah  the state system for 14 years as a Primary School Teacher

Now, Sarah is wanting to use all her skills to care for those who can, and want to, continue to live in their community by empowering them, where possible, to do as much as they can for themselves.
